Andrew Cumming, B.A., J.D.

Andrew is a cross-border lawyer licensed in Ontario, New York and Florida. He is an expert in U.S. immigration matters for Canadians and a frequent speaker on U.S. immigration and other cross-border matters at conferences. Mr. Cumming is the Managing Partner of Cumming & Partners and for over twenty years has provided expert advice on a wide variety of cross-border matters, including U.S. and Canadian immigration law and cross-border estate and tax planning. He is a best-selling author, having written a leading book on cross-border matters and numerous magazine and professional journal articles. Mr. Cumming earned a Juris Doctorate law degree (cum laude) from the University of Miami, and also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from McGill University.

 

Christopher Hall, CTA

Christopher is Managing Director of the New York office of Global Tax Network and has more than twelve years of experience in expat tax compliance and consulting. Having worked in the UK, Canada, and the U.S., Christopher has significant experience in a wide variety of expat related topics including Social Security, pensions, treaty application and planning, and compensation and policy issues. As an expat himself, he adds personal experience to the technical knowledge that relates directly to the challenges of making cross border moves. After receiving a BA (Honours) in Economics from the University of Leeds, Christopher began his career in the UK with Arthur Andersen. He is UK tax qualified and an Overseas Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK. Prior to joining GTN, Christopher worked in Deloitte's expat tax practice in Toronto and New York for over nine years handling border matters, including U.S. and Canadian immigration law and cross-border estate and tax planning.

 

Please join us for this interactive and informative seminar which will be held on February 27th at the Canadian Consulate. At 6:00pm, we’ll have a cocktail reception with light refreshments. The seminar will kick off at 6:30pm with a survey of the topics above, with time allotted for an interactive Q&A at 7:30pm.

 

Tickets for the seminar are $25 for CANY members and $40 non-members.  If you're not already a CANY member, this is a good opportunity to join!  Membership is only $20/year and provides many valuable benefits (including a $15 discount on this event).
