Join us for an in-person seminar navigating current U.S. immigration issues. The seminar will be an interactive discussion addressing critical immigration topics for Canadians living and working in New York.

  • Current issues and updates for each key US work visa (TN, H-1B, L-1, E, O-1).
  • Insights and updates for employment and marriage based green cards.
  • Border crossing strategies and practical guidance for dealing with the U.S. border and U.S. consulate.
  • Strategies for avoiding U.S. immigration mistakes: legal and practical advice on the most common problem issues for Canadians.
  • Advances in technology and new government filing fees.
  • "Moving on up": How to advance your U.S. immigration status to protect yourself and your family.
  • Strategies for dealing with current and prospective employers to achieve your US immigration goals.

Mindy Tessler-Scott

Mindy Tessler-Scott is a Partner at Cumming & Partners who has practiced exclusively in the field of immigration law for more than 20 years. While Mindy is knowledgeable in all aspects of U.S. and Canadian corporate, employment and family-based immigration matters, her expertise lies in assisting individual clients to realize their unique immigration goals. Mindy has extensive experience with all types of work permits (Canada and the U.S.), extra-ordinary ability petitions, green card (U.S.) and permanent residence applications (Canada). Over the years, Mindy has worked with professionals, athletes, artists, entertainers and production houses in obtaining work visas and finding more permanent solutions that suit their particular needs. Mindy provides U.S. and Canadian immigration services and advice to both individual and corporate clients. 

Tim Golden

Tim Golden is a Senior U.S. Immigration Attorney practicing exclusively in the area of U.S. immigration for over seventeen years. His experience covers the full gamut of U.S. immigration matters including business, large and small, independent investors and family-based immigration. As described by the international publication Who's Who Legal (WWL), Tim maintains a "flexibility in finding the right solution for each client's circumstance." He has worked in senior positions for several prominent international immigration law firms in both the U.S. and Canada. Tim has been active with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) in the local chapter and national events, and over the years he has provided his U.S. immigration expertise to local and national media outlets.
