Frequently Asked Questions about CANY’s Central Park Hockey Tournament


How do I get to Lasker Rink?

By Subway

Take the 2,3 to 110th St Central Park North Station. Walk into Central Park, following Park Dr N along the west edge of Harlem Meer. The Rink is located at the southwest corner of Harlem Meer. (see photo below)

By Car

From the Bronx: Take the Third Avenue bridge down to Lexington Avenue. Make right at 110th Street and drive down to Lenox Avenue.
From Queens: Take 59th Street Queensborough bridge to FDR Drive North to 96th Street. Make a right turn to Madison Avenue and left on the next light. Make a right to Central Park West and straight to 110th St. Left at 110th St and Central Park West. Lenox Avenue is two lights away.
From Brooklyn: Take the Brooklyn bridge to the FDR Drive North to 96th St. Follow the direction above.


Is there parking at Lasker Rink?

No, there isn’t onsite parking, but you can find often find street parking on 110th St along the north edge of the Park, or along Lenox Ave running North. For those wanting a garage, there is an ICON parking lot at 12-14 E 107th St (between 5th and Madison) with a 12-hour rate of $20 (212-722-9498).


Is there food available at Lasker Rink?
  • In terms of on-site options, there is a snackbar at the rink that will probably be open as well as vending machines
  • Food and drink is available at the deli on 110th and Lenox/Malcom X blvd
  • We will also have some light refreshments available for tournament participants

Are there changing rooms and showers?

Yes, the changing rooms are indoors, heated, comfortable.
Yes, there are showers available.


Are there lockers?

Yes, there are TINY lockers and they are FREE. If you want to use them, bring your own padlock. Otherwise, bring your hockey bag to the bench.


Is there overnight storage of hockey gear for Saturday night?

Yes, we will be able to lock one of the dressing rooms if you wish to store your gear at the rink. The dressing room will be secure, but CANY and the organizers do not accept any responsibility for lost items.


What happens in the event of inclement weather?

All teams will have an opportunity to opt in or out of a contingency plan which would likely entail off-peak timings at other city area rinks
